If your computer is very slow in its responses, you can be sure that it is so due to the following reasons:
- Hard drive storage full or almost full.
- Memory or RAM too small.
- Virus activity.
- Incorrect voltage amount
Many programs create temporary files when in use, when there is not enough storage space on your hard drive, these temporary files cannot be created as a result, thus you will notice the slowness in response.Always ensure to do disk cleaning every so often; Remove rarely used software programs you have installed. Do Disk de-fragmentation using the system tool, Disk defragmentor to sort the your files stored on your physical hard drive for easy retrieval by the system itself thus improving system performance.
Think of your RAM as the surface of a table, the more programs you open up, the table surface will become used up quickly. When it is full, your computer will become very slow as there is no more room to open up any more programs. Thus, you will need to open only the necessary programs or increase the surface area of the table by way of increasing your Memory or RAM capacity. The higher the RAM size the better it is for your computer, 512MB is sufficient, but 1GB or more would be even better.
Viruses are known to cause your computer to respond very slow also, as they run unnecessary background processes as well as create temporary files taking up space. Scan your computer with an updated anti-virus regularly and do it in Safe Mode or during boot up as viruses are not active then.
If you've tried the above things and your computer is still very slow, check the current flow into your computer, when your computer is not getting the required amount of current or volatage through, it is likely to respond very slow also. Purchase a new adaptor from a retail outlet and use or find a spare one from a good working computer and use.
Do these and your Computer will be much faster than before. Should one of these work for you, let me know by leaving a comment.
Cheers.
